Gotta wear shades! Why is it that in almost all of my posts you see a TOTAL disaster of my house? I swear you people probably think I'm a total slob and never clean up after my child. I promise you I do....in fact I do it all day long. Just when I finally take a break and take a picture...all He** breaks loose and Ellie the tornado whips through again. Sigh.....such is life with a 2 year old.
Tea party. She hasn't played with this teapot in months...even when it sits on her table right in front of her everyday. Funny how kids will suddenly rediscover their old toys and play with them like they're brand new.
Check out my sucker! Why do candy companies have to make blue candy? I swear...if you even so much as look at a piece of blue candy your tongue, teeth, face and hands are all covered in blue stickiness. I should just take all the blue suckers out of the jar already.
The backyard makeover beings. We started off with a bang...an enormous tree root...followed by another crazy tree root. Poor Daddy...worked really hard today to get started on what might be a rather lengthy process. Fingers crossed it continues smoothly :)
Ellie's Fashion Friday! Sleepwear :) Here she is on her new bedding in her new nightie from Target. It's a Tinkerbell nightie in case you can't tell :) She seriously loves it!!
Family walk/ bike ride. It's so good for us to get outside as a family...and tonight was great. Gives Mommy & Daddy some time to catch up on the day...gives us all some fresh air...and gives Ellie some time to learn how to pedal her bike :)
Tap tap tap your toes. My little tapper. She loves these shoes and when the time comes for her to start tap & ballet...she'll be ready :)
Big girl bedding! We got it tonight after a lengthy search for something I liked. Its pottery barn kids...but before you go thinking I spent a small fortune on it...let me tell you I didn't. It was all on sale..ok...well the solid pink shams weren't but everything else was. The sheets were the most expensive but still under 70 bucks for a full size set. The quilt was 80 bucks off!! The duvet cover was like 50 bucks off. It was too good of a deal to pass up on. And she's thrilled...I'm thrilled...and Daddy's thrilled cuz I got a good deal...We're all peachy :) Now we just gotta get her to stay in the thing!!!
Playing in the backyard with her cousins. Oh how I wish we had a backyard with grass and plenty of room for her to play and run around. Sadly...all we have is cement slabs in our backyard...but hopefully that will be changing soon. Yes...more home renovations...this time in the back. We're going to rip up all the slabs/squares of cement...and we'll lay down sod. We need to hire someone to come take down the rusted tin overhang...and we'll get a nice big umbrella to put over our outdoor furniture. I can see it all now in my head...and it's fabulous :) I can't wait to get started!!
Twirling. We went down to visit my sister and her family this weekend...and support my nieces in their dance recital. Ellie was giving us a little dance show afterwards. She was actually more interested in the dancing than I thought she would be. I brought all kinds of things to keep her busy...but she did really good :) Thank goodness!!
Ellie's Fashion Friday. Skirt on clearance from Gymboree, shirt from Carter's...and most importantly...braids...yes...braids...done by Mommy. I can't believe how much older she looks with braids. We need Peter Pan to take our child to Never Never Land immediately. No more growing up kid!
Dinner out. We are out at our favorite place...California Tortilla. We met Daddy by his work so Mommy could go meet with a new client tonight. That's the thing with living where we do...have to plan 2 hours ahead because of traffic.
Big girl bed. Yup. She decided it all on her own. At nap time today she told me she wanted to snuggle in the big girl bed. So we did. And tonight will/is going to be a long night. She's already gotten out of bed twice. LOL...and I thought it would be so easy :) Mommy & Daddy are trading off snuggle time with her...and we're both left wondering if this child will ever go to sleep :) She's such a big girl now...and it makes Mommy sad thinking that she won't get to tuck her into her crib anymore. But that's the way it goes I guess :)
COLD! Who doesn't enjoy a yummy popsicle after a nap? Apparently it was maybe a little too cold for her at first...but she hoovered that thing. I think Mommy & Daddy like those popsicles too...cuz they are quickly disappearing from the freezer :)
Baby geese! The rain cleared out today and our friends called us up and had us meet them at the local park for some much needed play time! And we got to feed some geese while we were there. There were 7 little babies...yikes...could you imagine...feeding 7 kids at one time. No thanks! :) We got dirty...and sweaty...and it was great :)
A born star if I've ever seen one! She is seriously thriving at dance class each week. This week was observation week...so we got to see her in full action. I'm not joking when I say that this child loves the attention. She put on a show for us. I think she was the only kid that stayed on the dance floor the whole time and didn't come running back to check in with a parent. Good thing we'll be doing this class again in the fall :)
Ellie's Fashion Friday the 13th!! Ooooooh..scary! No...not really :) Just a fun dress from Carter's. It's finally warming up here so that she can start wearing all her fun summer stuff..we got to wear it all at Disney...but now we get to wear it at home too :)
Angry Birds. Yes...we have another addict in our house...and her name is Ellie. She went upstairs by herself and got the ipad and carefully came back downstairs and handed it to her daddy and said " play angry birds daddy."
Thud. That's me. Face down on the floor from her extreme cuteness. Seriously.
Yup. This is what's going on in our house today. Took Ellie to the dr. today since she's had a cough for almost 3 weeks. Sure enough. Sinus infection. This is our very first dose of any antibiotic. We made it over 2 years before having to have one...so I consider that a success. Anywhoo...poor girl...she's running a low grade fever tonight now too...but we're trying to keep her comfy. She's not slowing down too much :) Hopefully a good night's rest will help ALL of us.
Riding my bike! We took a nice long walk this morning...well...I walked...and she rode her bike that I pushed. LOL...but she did start to get the hang of pedaling. But when I asked her to keep pedaling...she stopped....and laughed. Oh well!
Happy Mother's Day! What a great day. Beautiful cards from my hubby & from my Ellie girl. Gift certificates to my favorite places, a cookie cutter for each month to do with Ellie....and some wine to finish off the day :) Couldn't ask for better!
Beautiful day! We spent our day at the Montpelier Wine Festival! Lots of vineyards...and plenty of wine tasting which was a lot if fun. Ellie got to pet a 3 day old baby goat! She kept saying "so cute!" It was adorable!! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there and especially to my moms :)
Back to our regular schedule & relaxing on the couch :) Feels good to just lay around today!
At the bus stop waiting for our magical express back to the airport. Our hotel has airline check in capabilities...but of course for us...the computer is down. So we'll be lugging it all with us!
Passed out! That's how ALL of us are feeling! Good thing we're heading out bright & early tomorrow morning. We'll be back home early enough that we can all lay down for an afternoon nap. We've had a blast here...but we're definitely ready to be home. Bye Disney World!!
Character meal SUCCESS!! Breakfast with the princesses was a hit! She even got to parade around all by herself. My heart was about to explode with joy seeing her do it all by herself like a big girl!! To quote one of her other favorite princesses Rapunzel, " Best day EVER"!
Animal Kingdom day! Sorry about yesterdays post with my whole subject line. I must have been half asleep :) We saw the Nemo musical this morning and are at Rafikis planet watch taking an ice cream break :) Having loads of fun!!!
We're off to have breakfast with Manny & Special Agent Oso...so fingers crossed it goes well today! A full day of Hollywood Studios is ahead!!
