Hair appt day! Mommy got to use a gift certificate today...and got some fabulous new highlights. I think I could get use to that time by myself!! And I certainly could let them wash my hair all day long...they do head massages too while they wash. It was delightful!
Pajama Party!! Well...ok...more like Onesie Party! LOL...she set up her own "sleeping bag" on the living room floor...and thought it was hilarious. She was also playing peekaboo with her Granny Lou Lou :) Funny girl!! She gave her Granny a workout tonight...made her fly all over the house..and then got Daddy & Mommy involved too. Whew....now it's time to relax...she's in bed :)
Ellie's Fashion Friday! She's rocking her kitty shirt today. And comfy sweat pants that were hand me downs. And having her princess dolls give kisses and hugs!! Awww...Happy friday!!
Dancing Queen! Another day of dancing in our house. This time Mommy was dancing too!! We were getting in some morning exercise dancing to some old favorites from Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Sawyer Brown and John Michael Montgomery. Oh the days when you could just spin around and dance anyway you wanted..and you didn't worry about looking like a fool!! I only have those moments when I'm in the comfort of my own home...in my pj's dancing with my girl! I let it all loose :)
Whooooo! Spinning girl! She loves Yo Gabba Gabba and was jamming out to them today! You go girl!!
I wanna be like Mommy. She's got my big ol' sandals on...and carrying around my lovely Kelly Moore camera bag. Good thing Mommy took out her equipment before she started dragging it across the floor :) No worries...I didn't let her play with it too long...but since I was one of the original purchasers of this bag...and they found a problem with the strap...I did get a brand new one in the mail the other day. Yay me! Now I have 2 of the same one...but it's all good. I can use the old one as a regular purse :) It won't be hers for a long time!!
Frosting. Mmmmmm. Experimenting with a new frosting recipe I got from a friend. She said she mixes a can of bought frosting with a tub of whipped topping. How easy is that?? I'm always on the lookout for a good not to sweet frosting. So I tried it tonight...and I have to say...it's good! It holds up really well...and it didn't melt or breakdown at all like I thought it might. So this might have to be my go to recipe from now on. Now...I'll always keep my 7 minute frosting and buttercream frosting recipes on hand...but this is just too quick and easy not to use :)
Brushing teeth. She's very good about making sure "we" remember to help her brush! Every night after our bath we brush our teeth...and every morning we brush our teeth. It helps that it's a Dora the Explorer toothbrush. Who wouldn't want to brush with Dora?? :)
2 year old tantrum. Yup...there it is...in its finest. We were trying to get her to sing with us and be happy while I did her 2 year pics today. She didn't like the song we were singing...can you tell? Geesh...but...on the flip side...I did end up getting some really great pics of her!! Yay!! Gotta wait to post those...family gets to see them first of course :) Hope you're having a great weekend!!
She likes it! And we can let her use the whole tub now...no more little plastic tub that we have been using since she was born! I know...weird that we still used it...but I seriously hated that old blue tub...and it was so stinkin' hard to clean...so I never felt like it would be clean enough to let her lil' tushy touch it. So now...she's loving all the space :)
Some days you feel caught in a net. And today was a doozy. Finishing up the bathroom remodel...yay...so tomorrow they will officially finish...we've found a couple things they need to fix. I will post before and afters tomorrow definitely :) But then Ellie & I spent entirely too much time waiting at my eye dr.'s office...just to pick up some contacts that I had ordered back in December that I hadn't received yet...to then find out they mailed them to me...maybe? Geesh...as many moms out there know...around 4:30-bedtime is like the "witching" hour for kids...and my toddler and I were in a teeny tiny waiting room...doing just that...waiting...ughh...not to mention the total meltdown in the car on the way home...stuck in traffic. What a day...what a day. Good news is...our bathroom is done...and this girl can take a shower in there tomorrow morning!!
Mmmmm...I love the smell of Valentine's in the morning! LOL...she was very excited about her cupcake...and was actually licking it when I snapped this quick. I must have been really tired last night...cuz I didn't even remember to post this...so it's a day late...but thanks to handy blogger...I can make it look like I posted it on time :) So Happy Valentines Day friends!!
After bath time. We have the same routine we've had with her since she was a tiny baby. Bath every night...followed by getting lotioned up, jammies on...turtle lights on...and stories before bed. It's the same thing every night....and yet we never get sick of it. Amazing isn't it? Maybe it's because we're like other parents out there who really enjoy the time of day when their kids are in bed...and we can finally have time together...or time to ourselves doing what we like to do to unwind. But by the time morning rolls around...I'm eager to see my girl...and hear what new things she'll say that day. I've learned that being a mom is the hardest job..it takes a lot of patience...but the loving part is the easiest. :)
Read Stories Daddy. Snuggling in and reading books before bed. Her bedtime ritual with her Daddy. I almost forgot to take a picture...so it was a perfect time for me to sneak...ok...who am I kidding...we can't ever "sneak" in and take a picture :) I kept waiting for her to yawn so I could snap the perfect bedtime shot. She did good :)
Ellie's Fashion Friday! Had to snap this one quick...cuz it wasn't too long after she ripped the high ponytail out and got lunch all over her shirts. Anywhoo...she's in Gap tights, Old Navy denim skirt, Old Nave long sleeve tee, and a handmedown shirt from her cousins that's Gymboree. She was loving the little flower ties on the side. 
Blow Bubies. Now...if you're a fan of Real Housewives of New Jersey...this isn't the same "bubies" they talk about. It's Ellie's word for bubbles. And man does she love 'em! She just learned how to blow them on her own...and she bends over and blows them into the carpet :) So I was trying to teach her to blow out straight...didn't work. Oh well :)
Chapstick love. She's just like me...loves her chapstick. She just figured out how to smear it all on today. Boy...did she ever smear it on :) Sorry for the bad shot...been consumed with all the renovation stuff..and trying to finish up my Photoshop 101 Workshop. The last week...and I've learned SO much!! So I'll be posting better pictures once the bathroom is done :)
We have a tub! Whoohoo...and we have some new plumbing. He had to convert our 3 knob setup to a 1 knob. These are technical terms...it's just how I explain it :) So we also have 2 big holes in our kitchen ceiling...but that's ok. :) All we be fixed tomorrow...when drywall goes up! Yay!! And Thursday is tile....I can't wait...I can't wait :) More good stuff to come!!
Kitchen sink bath! So demo day was upon us today!! We have no shower/tub/toilet/sink...anything upstairs in our bathroom. We only have the half bath downstairs...so yes...I've not showered today :) Good thing you can't smell me through the computer! We have gym memberships...so we'll be taking full advantage of them tomorrow. And this little one...gets to have her bath in the kitchen sink. This was her first time in there. And she's almost 2! It's about time we got in there...and snapped a picture. She had a great time in there. And I love a picture of her with our coffee pot!! LOL :)
Sounds from the baby monitor. Oh how I love to listen to her talk to Minnie Mouse in the morning. How I miss the little squeaks she used to make when she was a tiny baby. Yes...I'll admit that I still have it on every night since we moved her to the crib when she was around 4 months old. We kept her in the cradle in our room until then. There's not a night that goes by that I don't have it on. You might think I'm crazy for doing it...but it's my security blanket at night...and I fall asleep to the sounds of her lullabies playing. 
Her birthday pillowcase dress is done!! It turned out so cute. I'm so proud of myself for finishing it in one night...and way ahead of time :) I learned recently that my grandmother always said never start a project on a Friday if you can't finish it the same day, because you'll never finish it, and she said never sew on Sundays...things never turn out right. So to my Grandma..I know you're watching over me... I took your advice...I started a sewing project on a Saturday evening...and I finished it in one night and it looks beautiful. So I guess Saturdays are good days for me :)
Ellie's Fashion Friday. You can NEVER wear too much pink..and, apparently...a tutu goes with everything :) Her shirt is an Old Navy hand me down from her cousins, pants are Carter's...and I think I got the tutu from Target last year for her 1st birthday. Happy Friday everyone!!
The bed debate. It continues. We're still trying to figure out what to do. Do we get Eleanor a toddler bed...or just get her a twin bed with guardrails? We really only have room for the toddler bed. I got the measuring tape out and the twin bed we're looking at is the same length as our guest full bed that's also in her room. There just aint' enough room in this tiny 2 bedroom townhouse we call home. Ahhh...the joys of living in the DC area...real estate is REALLY expensive. Unless you're a gazillionaire...you're limited to what you can afford to live in. And we're not ready to deal with the moving process...and selling our house mess. I think that can wait for just a little longer. But...this bed thing...it needs to get decided soon. Our little peanut is about to turn 2 and has already tried to climb out of her crib :) Gotta love being a parent!
Lazy dog day. That's our 7 year old dog, Maggie. She loves to lay on our bed...and today the sun was shining bright through the windows and she was basking away. Poor thing kept trying to fall asleep and I was clicking away and making noises so she kept opening her eyes. Funny dog she is. She may be considered a "senior"...but she still acts like a puppy :)
Just like her Daddy. A computer wiz :) We were Skyping with Grammie C today...and I let her sit in the big chair...and she was a clicking away. Next thing you know we'll be buying Ellie her own MacBookPro ;) I'm sure Daddy will approve that purchase :)
